MCU Day! Ant-Man Comes Out!

It's the final film of Marvel Studios' Phase Two!  Without Edgar Wright's brilliance behind it I almost lost interest...BUT!  It's still an Marvel Cinematic Universe movie and it should have tiny people and huge bugs so I still wanna see it.

ART OPENING at Warwick Public Library!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEW SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's Down There?

Illustrations Inspired by a Childhood on Narragansett Bay

A New Series by Seth McCombs

A whole bunch of new stuff!  The title explains what the idea is.  I am resisting posting any images on line until the show goes up but I'm really stoked on this new work.

All you've seen is the Serpent of Conimicut Light.  I finished that piece before Christmas so we made some prints for the holiday sales and let it out in the world as an ambassador for my new show.  In the meantime folks have been asking about the original piece but it will not be for sale until this opening.

MCU Day! Daredevil Comes Out!

Does this have anything to do with me?  Yes and here's why: As a kid I what they called a Marvel Zombie and though I've lost interest in following the endless cycles of their comics, I have grown up into a Marvel Cinematic Universe Zombie.  You follow sports?  I follow this.  Today is the day that season one of the MCU connected Daredevil series comes out on Netflix.  It is my sincere hope that I will manage to watch only one episode a night, when I can't work anymore.

By all accounts this event was a big success last year and we are stoked to be part of it for the first time.  Meet dozens of local authors working in every genre you can think of.

Rhode Island Comic Con

This our second year doing this and we had an awesome time last year, before we even had the book out.  This year I'll be doing readings downstairs at Kids Con and we'll have a table up on the main floor.

In honor of Halloween weekend, we'll have some oddities from the dark side of my imagination as well as the launch of my new project, you heard it here first, called WeirdOnauts.  Also available ONLY at Rhode Island Comic Con will be another collaboration, a short comic book created, written and painted by Gabriella Shelton, Age 10, with drawings and editing by me, Age 36.

William Shatner will be there.

It's at the convention center in downtown Providence.

Storytelling: An Art Show by Deb Hickey and Seth McCombs

  • Chez Pascal

This project was a very cool idea brought to me by my friend and coworker, Deb Hickey.  She has created a series of photo-collages and I have written text pieces to accompany them.  My conceit for this project was that the viewer is being taken on a guided tour through a very strange little town.  This date is for the opening reception but the show will stay up for a few months.

Scituate Art Festival Author Series

We will be set up at the book section of the mighty Scituate Art Festival, in the parking lot of the library, right off the main drag of the festival.  100,000 attendees, they say.  I only have 500 books left.

Wakefield Art Festival

This is one of a couple of events we have coming up with Festival Fete.  A particular reason we like them is that they offer a youth artist program where kids can get table space to sell their work for a small portion of their profits.

This will be right on Main St in downtown Wakefield.

Boston Comic Con

I love this thing.  I've been going since it was a few rooms in the basement of a hotel and it's been getting bigger every year.  The 2012 show was the very first time I set up a trade show and it was a galvanizing experience.  I am really looking forward to this.  We will be there all three days.  Jeff Smith is gonna be there too!  I expect to have some cool, different stuff for this.

RIPExpo at Providence Public Library

We are stoked to be part of the first Rhode Island Independent Publishing Expo.  Expect a weirder and wider variety of work at this thing.  This event has the potential to be awesome and I'm excited to see what happens.
